Merlyn Mind Responsible AI Consortium

Merlyn Mind is a deep learning research and deployment company. We’re currently the leading developer in AI classroom technology. Being in such a sensitive domain, our team has always believed in maintaining an uncompromising, forward-thinking approach to Responsible AI (RAI). In November, we released the first draft of our RAI principles.

Responsible and safe AI implementation, in schools and beyond, includes much more than standard data safety. The use of AI in our everyday lives has ethical and societal implications that, as technological pioneers and educators, it is all of our duty to consider thoughtfully.

That’s why, this past November, Merlyn Mind hosted a responsible AI focused dinner in collaboration with Stanford University. Educators, professors, business leaders, and Merlyn team members attended and shared in a thorough, open discussion.

Recently, Merlyn Mind released a checklist for teachers and one for school administrators to understand what Responsible AI is and how to evaluate AI tools for their level of safety. This living document includes checklists for teachers and administrators invested in safe AI implementation. We hope to expand our efforts to include any and all industries touched by the rapidly changing technological landscape.

Co-designing with users and stakeholders has always been and will remain a crucial value upheld by Merlyn Mind.

So, we’ve decided to host a consortium on Responsible AI in March. In-person events will be held in Irvine, CA, and New York, NY. Virtual attendance will be accommodated.

If you’re interested in attending this upcoming event or keeping up to date with our Responsible AI initiatives, please fill out the below interest form.

We look forward to co-designing a safe future together.
